Answer to "A Question for the New Year"

Did you get it?  Hopefully, it wasn't too hard...

The answer:  Los Angeles is two hours behind Dallas.  So when Los Angeles was at 11:11:11 PM on 12/31/2010, Dallas was at 1:11:11 AM on 1/11/2011.  A way to write the first date of 2011 is 1/11/11.  Which means 1:11:11 AM looks exactly like 1/11/11.

Cool, huh?

A Question for the New Year

I know it has been a while since I've posted here, but hopefully in the new year I will be post more often with mathematical observations and contests.

So here's a question to get you thinking... when the current time in Los Angeles, California is eleven minutes and eleven seconds after eleven in the evening tonight (December 31, 2010), what will be happening at the same time in Dallas, TX?

Answer to appear soon.  HAPPY NEW YEAR!

About Today...

Today marks a couple of milestones... my father-in-law has a birthday today and it is also my (Dallas) pastor and wife's wedding anniversary.

But there is something mathematically that happens today. Do you know what it is? Post your guesses here.
